4 BBMAs Nominees Scored Multiple Noms In The Same Category

After the 2017 Billboard Music Awards nominations were announced, it appears we have a few stage-five clingers. Drake, The Chainsmokers, Rihanna and Twenty One Pilots have all scored multiple nominations in more than ten categories–in one case, three times! (Looking at you, Twenty One Pilots). Check out which categories your faves are dominating at this year’s BBMAs.

Top Hot 100 Song

Two of The Chainsmokers historic 22 nominations came in this category, where “Closer” featuring Halsey and “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Daya are both up for the BBMA.

Top-Selling Song

Since digital sales is a major factor in determining a Billboard Hot 100 song’s ranking, it’s no surprise The Chainsmokers received a double nomination.

Top Radio Song

In the last year, it was hard to not find The Chainsmokers on the radio. Both “Closer” featuring Halsey and “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Daya received nods for Top Radio Song.

Top Collaboration

While Drake grabbed 22 nominations in 19 categories, The Chainsmokers scored their 22 noms in 16 categories, meaning lots of double-nominations.

Top R&B Song

Leading the ladies’ field at the 2017 BBMAs, Rihanna received two nominations in the Top R&B Song category for “Needed Me” and “Work” featuring Drake. Drake also doubled up in this category for “One Dance” featuring Wizkid & Kyla and Rihanna’s “Work”.

Top R&B Collaboration

The Top R&B Collaboration earned Drake a double-nomination for “One Dance” featuring Wizkid & Kyla and Rihanna’s “Work”.

Top Country Song

Country force Florida Georgia Line sent two songs, “H.O.L.Y.” and “May We All” featuring Tim McGraw into the Top Country Song category.

Top Rock Song

Talk about domination, Twenty One Pilots have THREE nominations for Top Rock Song, including “Stressed Out”, “Ride” and “Heathens”.

Top Dance/Electronic Song

It’s a battle of double-nominations in the Top Dance/Electronic category between The Chainsmokers and Justin Bieber. “Closer” featuring Halsey and “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Daya go up against DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You” featuring Justin Bieber and Major Lazer’s “Cold Water” featuring MØ and Justin Bieber.

Top Latin Album

He is one busy man. Juan Gabriel floods the Top Latin Album category with “Los Dúo 2” and “Vestido de Etiqueta: Por Eduardo Magallanes”.

Top Dance/Electronic Album

There was no pause button for The Chainsmokers this past year as they landed two albums, “Bouquet (EP)” and “Collage (EP)” into the Top Dance/Electronic Album category.
