One Direction might be on hiatus, but the massive success of their fifth studio album Made in the A.M. and the On The Road Again Tour earned them two nods at this year’s Billboard Music Awards for Top Duo/Group and Top Touring Artist.
1D could even break a BBMAs record this year.
Destiny’s Child is one the top 16 BBMAs winners of all time. The group has won 10 awards: Artist of the Year (2000); Duo/Group of the Year (2000); Hot 100 Singles Artist of the Year (2000); Hot 100 Singles Duo or Group of the Year (2000); Artist of the Year (2001); Artist of the Year – Duo/Group (2001); Hot 100 Singles Artist of the Year (2001); Soundtrack Single of the Year (2001); Artist Achievement Award (2004); R&B/Hip-Hop Group of the Year (2005).
One Direction has previously won five BBMAs: Top Duo/Group (2015); New Artist of the Year (2013); Top Pop Artist (2013); Top Touring Artist (2015); Top Duo/Group (2015). 1D is a finalist for Top Duo/Group this year alongside Maroon 5, twenty one pilots, The Rolling Stones and U2.
