6 BBMAs Categories Where One Artist Has Multiple Nods

What do The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Sam Hunt, DJ Snake and Hillsong UNITED all have in common? Besides being 2016 Billboard Music Awards finalists, they also all received multiple nods in a single category for this year’s BBMAs.

Check out six categories where a single artist has more than one nod.


Top Hot 100 Song


The Weeknd has two nods for Top Hot 100 Song with his tracks “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills.” The Weeknd is a finalist in more categories than any other artist this year, with 19 nods in 16 categories.


Top R&B Song


Three of the five songs up for Top R&B Song are tracks by The Weeknd. “Can’t Feel My Face,” “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)” and “The Hills” all received nods for Top R&B Song.


Top Streaming Song (Audio)


Justin Bieber has two nods for Top Streaming Song (Audio) with “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean.” Justin has the second most nods this year with 12 nods in 11 categories.


Top Country Song


Sam Hunt has two nods for Top Country Song with “Break Up In A Small Town” and “Take Your Time.” Sam is also a finalist for Top Country Artist and Top Country Album.


Top Dance/Electronic Song


DJ Snake worked on two tracks that are up for Top Dance/Electronic Song. “You Know You Like It” by DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge and “Lean On” by Major Lazer & DJ Snake Featuring  both received nods in this category. DJ Snake is also finalist for Top Dance/Electronic Artist.


Top Christian Song


Hillsong UNITED has two songs up for Top Christian Song. “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” and “Touch The Sky” both received nods in this category. Hillsong UNITED is also a finalist for Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Album.
