How Many Chart Toppers Do the Top BBMAs Winners Have?

It’s a lot harder to get a No. 1 song on the Hot 100 chart than you think. Some of today’s most popular artists and BBMAs winners, like One Direction, Ed SheeranSelena Gomez and Ariana Grande, still haven’t done it.

In terms of Hot 100 No. 1 singles and Billboard 200 No. 1 albums, how do the top 10 BBMAs winners stack up?

One just achieved their first No. 1 single last year, and another has more No. 1 singles than any other solo artist in history, but two of them have never had a No. 1 single.

How are BBMAs finalists and winners decided? Well, they’re based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital songs sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social interactions. These measurements are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

Since 1940, the Billboard charts have been the go-to guide for ranking the popularity of songs and albums, and are one of the most-used measures of a musician’s success. Check out all the No. 1 songs and albums the top 10 BBMAs winners have created below.
